First Announcement - Call for Registration

International Taijiquan Culture Festival 2012

April 30th - May 4th in Kaifeng China

1.      Organizer:  International Society of Chen Taijiquan (ISCT)  

2.      Date:   April 30th - May 4th,  2012

3.      Event Place:

The main festival will be held at Henan University located in Kaifeng City, an ancient capital in Henan Province China. The gymnasium for the workshop is the Gymnasium of Henan University. You may choose to take part in the study trips, and your family and/or friends may travel together with you. You may also choose to stay in Zhengzhou City and study Tajiquan instead of the study trips.

4.      Objective and Activities:

Pre-Workshops (Before April 29th):

Pre-work-shops are available for who arrive before April 29.

(And, you may stay in Zhengzhou City and study Tajiquan if you do not choose to take part in the study trips after May 1st.)

Research Presentation(April 30th):

On Taijiquan and Wushu, Development of Taijiuqan, Health and Culture, Reports on activities, Panel discussion with famous masters.

Demonstration(April 30th):

Team and/or individual demonstration by ISCT members, groups in China, and famous masters.

Workshops (May 1st): 

A one day lesson on Chen Style Taijiquan (Xiaojia etc), Sizheng Taijiqan, Push hands and applications, Theory (Jinluo , Yi  and Qi etc.), History and culture of Taijiquan.

ISCT Meetings(Organization member only):

On organization and development of the ISCT.

Study Trips(May 2nd-May 4th):

Trips to Chenjiagou (birth place of Taijiquan); Sanmenxia City( Hangu Pass where Laozu wrote Daoteching);  Famous Heritages around Xi’an City.
5.      Lodgings and cost (From April 29 to May 4th):

The costs below do not include the fees before April 28. You may make a hotel reservation by yourself, and you may return your Registration Form B to get help with your hotel reservation from the committee staffs if you will arrive before April 29 and take part in pre-workshops. The hotels reserved in April 29^th-May 4^th are 3-Star Hotels, and you may choose to use convenient/cheap hotel before April 28^th for which you may select your room and hotel style in your Registration Form B. 

The registration fees are divided into four cases as listed below, and the amounts are shown in the Excel File of the Registration Forms. The amounts may be calculated automatically by the Excel File.

Case 1: (April 29th-May 1st) for one person who does not take part in the Study Trips and will share a twin room with another participant. The Price including:  Lodging and dinners, Welcome Banquet, transportation from the airport, accesses to the event place ,and all activities from April 29th to May 1st ; not including the fees for Taijiquan lessons.

Case 2: (April 29th-May 1st) for one person who does not take part in the Study Trips and will occupy in a single room. The Price including:  Lodging and dinners, Welcome Banquet, transportation from the airport, accesses to the event place , and all activities from April 29th to May 1st ; not including the fees for Taijiquan lessons.

Case 3: (April 29th-May 4th) for one person who will take part in the Study Trips and will share a twin room with another participant. The Price including:  Lodging and dinners, Welcome Banquet, Closing Ceremony, Study Trips(entry ticket of heritage sites & transportation), transportation from the airportaccesses to the event place, and all activities from April 29th to May 4th; not including the fees for Taijiquan lessons.

Case 4: (April 29th-May 4th) for one person who will take part in the Study Trips and will occupy in a single room. The Price including:  Lodging and dinners, Welcome Banquet, Closing Ceremony, Study Trips(entry ticket of heritage sites & transportation), transportation from the airport, accesses to the event place, and all activities from April 29th to May 4th; not including the fees for Taijiquan lessons.

6.      Call for Registration Forms

Please return the “Registration Form for International Taijiquan Culture Festival 2012 China” until February 20^th. Please choose one form of the Form A-1 and Form A-2, and you should finish Form B, in addition, if you will take part in the Pre-Workshops before April 29th. Please contact Mr. Fan Wenquan to get your registration form if you have not yet received it.

1. Registration Form A-1: For members who will attend the study trips (All activities from April 29th to May 4th)
2.  Registration Form A-2: For members who do not attend the study trips (All activities from April 29th to May 1st)
3. Registration Form B: For members who will attend Pre-workshops before April 29th
